Christmas Surprises!!

This was the best Christmas in years! David surprised us Christmas Eve by knocking on our door. Well, he didn't quite get to the door. I saw lights in front of our house and looked out the window and saw a man get out of strange car. He walked like David and I thought it was him. I ran into the living room and said to Ken, who was rocking Kirsten in my rocking chair in front of the door, that I thought David was out front. He said, no way. I opened the door and peaked out. I wasn't sure, but then when he walked up the side of the yard I knew it was him. I ran out and almost tackled him. It was a good thing he is a strong man. Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Thanksgiving Week

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Week. David arrived from Washington DC on Wednesday evening and stayed until Sunday morning. It was a great visit. Thanks Dave for coming. This is a picture of David and his nephew, Christopher at the parade.

We spent Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad in Rigby. David and Katie Downey were there with there two adorable little boys. The first is David J. playing a computer game with Brenton, his brother and the 2nd is a picture of Carter, their youngest. He was talking and smiling at me.

We went to the Pocatello Parade of Lights Friday night. This is a picture of all of us at the parade. The guy in the hat is a friend.

David and Grandpa Tennant. We met him at Golden Corral in Twin Falls, ID for lunch. They had a great time teasing each other--one old Marine to one young Marine. They are two of a kind!

A New Beginning!

Well, we are in for a brand new beginning here in Idaho!! This past weekend has been full of surprises! Mike was called to be the 1st counselor in our ward bishopric. What a shock! We thought being a Bishop and a counselor twice in Colorado would get us off the hook here in the Mormon populated state of Idaho. But God has lots of surprises. I have been the ward choir director for a little over a year and am really loving it. Well, I guess President Groom, my stake president while growing up in Rigby, Idaho, said it best. You will be in a calling until you learn it and love it and then you will be released. I will be released after we perform our Christmas contata in December, but in the meantime be one of the two Gospel Doctrine teachers! Now, don't laugh!! My son was sitting in church with us when I was sustained and let out a loud giggle!! My family knows that I am not a scriptorian. What makes it worse is that Mike has been the teacher and I am taking his place. I think he doesn't even understand why I was called. The Lord must have a lot of time to help me get through this one. We shall see how it all unfolds.
